Friends, I've run into a little snag. Nothing that can't be mended but I'll have to take a little time off to do so. I won't be posting for a week or two but I do hope to be able to do some visiting to your blogs between now and then. See you back here soon. Karyn
As far as I'm concerned, whoever first decided to stop using built in shelves, had the wrong idea.
One of my girls is taking french this school year so we've decided that french flash cards would be so much fun as art in her room. These from The Interrupting Lion, could work beautifully.
Fall won't set in here for awhile but every year it starts toying with us right about now. Cool evenings and mornings; the kind where you're tricked into wearing a sweater only to strip it off a few hours later when the heat comes. We woke up one day this week to rain clouds. We were all (6) very excited by the idea but nothing came of those clouds. It's very frustrating but I do love the anticipation of it.
Can a kitchen actually even fall into the category of intellectual? I'm not so sure but that's the sense I get from this space; it's very smart.
I've had a few spare hours in San Francisco over the last few days and boy, have I made good use of them. I stopped to see the work of Clare Rojas at the Craft and Folk Art Museum on Friday and then the Textile exhibit, To Dye For, at the DeYoung on Monday. Both were fantastic. Especially because in each exhibit, I was the only one there so I stood extra close and examined every little detail.
I don't read like I used. Yesterday though, I picked up a book, "The Help" and I hardly put it down for the rest of the day. Today, I plan to do more of the same. It seems the perfect way to spend a long holiday weekend, absorbed in a book and otherwise relaxed.
I want to run up these stairs to grab something I've forgotten, sit at the stoop while talking on the phone or lean over the banister to see who's below. Can you imagine?!
